Understanding Your Personal Care Options.

There is more than one way to arrange personal care. Here is a plain-language overview of the pathways families often ask about.

Private Pay

Families may arrange personal care services directly with Trusted Friend. We’re happy to talk through the services you’re interested in, the schedule that would help, and how private pay arrangements work.

Details are discussed during your free consultation.

Veterans Affairs Community Care

Eligible veterans may receive authorized services through participating VA Community Care arrangements.

Eligibility, authorization, and the services approved are determined by the VA. If you are a veteran, or you care for one, we can talk with you about what to ask your VA care team.

Nevada Medicaid

Eligible Medicaid members may qualify for authorized personal care services under applicable program rules.

Eligibility and approved services are determined by the program, not by Trusted Friend.

Long-Term Care Insurance

Certain long-term care insurance policies may cover eligible personal care services.

Policies differ in what they cover, when benefits begin, and what paperwork is needed. It helps to review your policy or call your insurer, and we’re glad to talk it through with you.

Other Insurance Options

Coverage varies by insurer, plan, network participation, and authorization. Not every plan is accepted.

If you have other coverage, please contact us and we’ll let you know whether we can work with your plan.

Important: Coverage depends on eligibility, authorization, and plan requirements. Trusted Friend does not guarantee coverage under any program or insurance plan, and not every plan is accepted.

Common Questions

Do you accept my insurance? (expand)

It depends on your plan, your eligibility, and whether authorization is required. Please contact us with the name of your plan or program and we’ll let you know what is possible.

Can you guarantee that my benefits will cover care? (expand)

No. Coverage is decided by the program or insurer and depends on eligibility, authorization, and plan requirements. We can help you understand your options, but we cannot promise coverage.

What should I have ready when I reach out? (expand)

It can help to know who the care is for, the kinds of help that would be useful, and the name of any program or insurance you already have. Please do not send sensitive medical, financial, or identification information through our website form. We can talk through details by phone.
